Founded in 1985, the Kappa Rho chapter of Sigma Nu has maintained its reputation as one of UCSD's premier fraternities. We pride ourselves by excelling in all areas of fraternal life including brotherhood, social, sports, academic, and leadership.
It is often said that there is no "typical" Sigma Nu and this is due to our members' great diversity of interests, activities, and backgrounds. We are all bound together by our pledge to the ideals of Love, Truth, and Honor which have been principles of Sigma Nu since the Civil War. These ideals and our strong diversity help us to achieve a level of brotherhood which is second to none.
Sigma Nu has provided young men with the most memorable part of their college experience. It will provide you with the best friendships you will ever make, the best times you will ever enjoy, and the memories to last a lifetime. If you are just entering UCSD, going into your sophomore year feeling deprived of 'the college experience', or transferring in as a third year, I assure you Sigma Nu has something to offer you. Sigma Nu has an impressive reputation with UCSD's nine sororities and we host multiple exchanges and a venue party every quarter. Whether scoring the winning touchdown in an IFC football game, coaching sororities in our two annual philanthropies, Trick or Treat for Hunger and Sandblast Sorority Volleyball Tournament, or partying at the beachside condos at semi-formal in Rosarito, you will find your place in Sigma Nu.
